A polyanthus has flowers at the top of a long stem, compared to a primrose which has flowers held low to the foliage. Polyanthus have a larger rosette of foliage and are usually used for bedding, whereas primroses are usually grown as pot plants.
Polyanthus are the major alternative to Pansies for spring flowering bedding plants. Some of our varieties will also flower in the autumn if planted early. Use them in bedding displays or planters and tubs.
Our plants are supplied as large, pack grown plants, equivalent those you might find in the local garden centre. The compost cell measures approximately 7 x 6 x 7cm (3 x 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches).
Autumn flowering varieties will be ready to flower before long. All types are big enough to get well established before the winter season, giving a larger plant with more flower than a plug grown plant.
